Week 5 - Final touches before MOJO

Hello everybody! It's MOJO week!

What is MOJO, you may ask? Well, in its essence, it's an opportunity to showcase our progress to our colleagues and professors at IST. Anybody is welcome to come, so come meet us if you're nearby!

In any case, our group has been a flurry of activity this week. From preparing our stand at MOJO, to the finishing touches to the prototype we are going to present, we have truly been restless.

Paulina has been working on the art, finishing up the long list of sprites and animations that were still missing. Trust me, they look incredible. She has also completely revamped the way we build the scenario, making it much faster and easier to build new areas.

Tiago and I have been working on the code side of things. He has implemented an impressive number of features that were still missing: from UI elements like inventory and a spellbook, to some fun spells like Ice Spear, a powerful ice spell, and Stoneskin, a spell that makes your skin harden, protecting you from damage. He has also given us items, a feature that we had not been sure we'd have the time to implement.

As for myself, I have finished up the enemies and bosses. Our world is now populated by enemies such as slimes, dragonlings, and fallen mages, with black magic driving them forth. During the course of the game, you'll also be able to challenge different bosses, unique enemies that are more powerful than all the others. The Ice Queen in her frozen throne, the Phoenix in its smouldering lair, the Dragon in the ruins of a once great kingdom. All are majestic and fierce; all are deadly and merciless. And above them all is, of course, The Mad King himself, the final challenge of the game.

We hope you are as excited to finally play our game as we are to show it to you! See you at MOJO!
