Week 4 - Progress

Hello there! Welcome to week four of our development log for Through the Misty Gate. This week, we made some progress in the two main aspects of the game - spells and enemies. We also worked on some beautiful new art assets, which we're very excited to share with you. Well, without further ado, let's get right into it.

Afonso has continued work on the spell system. He has now started implementing specific spells, such as Fireball, having finished work on the base classes. He has also been learning animations, so we can have some beautiful explosions in the final version of the game.

Tiago has finished a prototype of the first area of the game, which might still be tweaked slightly as the game develops. He has also been working on some cinematics to go along with it. As if that wasn't enough, he worked on improving the spellbook UI and using that knowledge to start implementing an inventory and item system, though this is still in its early stages.

Paulina has finished work on the cooldown and "reload" mechanics for the spells. She has also been working hard on the art side of things, and has brought us incredible assets that will populate Tiago's first area.

As for myself, I continued work on the enemies. I have also started designing the bosses for the game, outlining some of the possible behaviours and attacks that they might have. I hope to be fully finished with the enemy implementation by next week, as well as having at least one of the bosses implemented.

And that's all for this week! We'll see you in the next, when we will talk a bit about our participation in MOJO.
